Diversified UAE-based conglomerate eyes leadership in the fast-growing ten-over cricket format
Ghalia Group, a leading UAE-based business conglomerate with an annual turnover of $2 billion and investments spanning oil, gas, and various industries across the GCC and India, has officially announced its new role as Patron of the T10 Cricket League. The group plans to inject millions of US dollars to further develop and globally expand the world’s first professional ten-over cricket format.
“Our partnership with the T10 League aligns with Ghalia Group’s broader vision to revolutionize and popularize short-format cricket worldwide,” stated Zahid Hussain, Chairman of Ghalia Group. “With matches lasting just 90 minutes—similar to a football game—the T10 format offers unmatched excitement and is rapidly capturing fans across different countries. Ghalia Group is proud to take a leadership role in this sporting evolution.”
T10 League: Fastest Growing Cricket Format in the World
The announcement came shortly after the conclusion of the 2nd T10 League season, which featured global cricket superstars such as Zaheer Khan, Daren Sammy, Eoin Morgan, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Rashid Khan, and others.
Eight franchise teams competed in 29 thrilling matches. The championship title went to the Northern Warriors, led by former West Indies captain Daren Sammy and coached by ex-Indian cricketer Robin Singh.
“The 2nd Season of the T10 League was an overwhelming success,” added Hussain. “However, we believe the league holds even greater potential for growth. Ghalia Group is eager to collaborate with the T10 League management to help unlock this potential and elevate the league’s global profile.”
The 3rd T10 League season is scheduled for October 16–25, 2019, featuring eight established teams battling it out in 30 matches for the coveted championship title.
Ghalia Group’s Legacy and Vision

This strategic move into cricket marks a significant milestone in Ghalia Group’s commitment to promoting sports innovation and expanding its influence in the global entertainment and sports industry.
